0.5 // How It Works

Four Steps. No Guessing.

You don’t need a gym, a wearable, or a plan you’ll ignore by Friday. You need a coach in your living room and a standard to live to. Here’s how we get there.

Step 01 · Week 0

The Conversation

Twenty to thirty minutes on the phone. You tell me where you are. I tell you honestly whether Stand Ready is the right fit.

This is not a sales call. If what you need is physical therapy, I’ll tell you. If what you need is a doctor, I’ll tell you. If what you need is what we do, we’ll talk about how it actually works.

What we cover:

  • What’s changed in your body over the last 1–5 years
  • What activities have quietly disappeared from your week
  • Any injuries, surgeries, or medical guidance we need to work around
  • What “better” would actually look like for you specifically
Step 02 · Week 1

The Assessment

I come to your home. Not a gym. Not a clinic. The place where you actually live — because that’s where the work happens and that’s where the honest picture lives.

The assessment takes about 90 minutes. You do not need to prepare. You do not need to be able to do anything. The whole point is to see where you actually are, without you performing for me or hiding from yourself.

What we look at:

  • Movement screen — how you get up, sit down, reach, rotate, and step
  • Strength baselines — grip, legs, trunk, upper body
  • Balance and stability — single-leg, reactive, closed-eye
  • Cardiovascular capacity — a simple, honest test
  • Your home — where sessions will run, what space we’ll use

You leave the assessment with a plain-English summary of what your body is doing well, where it’s compensating, and what we’re going to build.

Step 03 · Weeks 2–12

The Program

A custom program built around the four pillars of Stand Ready: Physical, Purpose, Mental, Nutrition. None of them work without the others. All of them together are how men over 50 come back.

Sessions run 60–75 minutes, 2–3 times a week, in your home. Same coach every time. Same standard every time. Progress tracked every session so we know what’s working and what needs to change.

What a typical session looks like:

  • 10 min — movement prep and nervous-system priming
  • 30–40 min — strength, mobility, and stability work
  • 10 min — balance, coordination, or capacity finisher
  • 10 min — debrief, homework, and one honest question about the week

Between sessions, you get short daily practices — 5–10 minutes — that keep the work compounding. No apps to check in with. No streaks to break. Just the standard.

Step 04 · Ongoing

The Standard

Most men graduate the 12-week program and stay on. Not because they have to. Because now they’ve got something worth protecting.

Ongoing coaching drops the frequency but keeps the standard. One session a week — or one every other week — plus async check-ins when life gets in the way. Injury, illness, travel, grief: we adjust the plan, we don’t abandon it.

What ongoing looks like:

  • 1 in-home session per week or bi-weekly
  • Async check-ins as needed
  • Quarterly re-assessments so we can see the trajectory in numbers
  • Nutrition and sleep guidance when it’s time to layer them in
  • A coach who knows your body, your history, and your calendar
